    Position Summary

    Position Summary:  The Digital Video Manager will help refine and deploy video content across all our station-driven digital properties (browser-based, app & OTT).


    The Digital Video Manager will work with others in the digital media services division, Nexstar content personnel and station personnel to ensure video is delivered efficiently across all platforms. This will include interfacing with video vendors, corporate & station engineering teams, training market personnel and establishing documentation and best practices.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:       

    • Oversight of all digital video products
    • Act as project manager for new video technology and initiative deployments
    • Ensure seamless delivery across all digital platform
    • Ensure monetization of video assets via pre-, post- & mid roll with both client and server-side delivery

    Requirements & Skills:


    • 5+ years’ experience in producing, editing and promoting video
    • Proven track record of success at building engaging video experiences for publishers
    • Familiarity with common video codecs (.mp4, .m3u8, etc.) and video players
    • Experience with video management systems, Anvato experience a plus
    • Knowledge of MRSS feeds
    • Familiarity with OTT platforms and delivery systems including but not limited to Roku, AppleTV, FireTV, smart TVs
    • Experience with video ad delivery including but not limited to
    • In-depth understanding of video consumption metrics
    • Familiarity with html, css, .js, & .php. Experience with other scripting languages and a working knowledge of C-based programming languages a plus.
    • Experience in the broadcast industry is helpful but not required

    Physical Demands & Work Environment:

    The Digital Media Manager must be able to stand, sit, reach, climb, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work in close proximity to others, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.  In addition, the Digital Media Manager must be able to lift, set up and operate equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, and be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls.  Repetitive movements are required.  Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.
